The Integration - Generic Plugin allows manually specifying an external Campaign linkage for a Workflow, which allows the usage of Link Columns within the Workflow.
The Integration - Generic Plugin needs to be enabled in the Plugins Section of the Admin Module. No additional settings are required before the Plugin can be activated.
Once the Integration - Generic Plugin is active, the option to configure External Links will appear as a tab in the Workflow Properties panel.
When the External Links panel has been expanded, the Manage button can be clicked to set up an External Link. When using the Integration - Generic Plugin, the Campaign Name will not be pre-populated from an external source like other Plugins can do; instead the Campaign Name box allows for free typing of text that will be used as the created Campaign's Identifier. Once the desired name of the Campaign is entered, click Add to create the link between this Workflow and the provided Campaign Identifier; this information will now appear in the Selected Links panel.
This link needs to be saved on the Workflow Properties screen by pressing the Save button at the bottom.
Once the External Link has been configured, the Workflow can be edited, and Fields can be configured with Link Columns using this Plugin. When viewing the Field Info tab in the Field Properties of a Field, the Link Column text box will now appear. As with the link to the Campaign Name, the Link Column allows for free typing of text so a suitably descriptive (and distinct) name should be entered here.
Popping
The External Link Campaign created by this Plugin can be popped by a variety of methods, please refer to Popping Mechanisms for further information.
Valid pop Identifiers for the created External Link are either the specified Campaign Name, or {CallScripter Text Plugin} prepended onto the specified Campaign Name. So for the example above, valid pop Identifiers would be Test Campaign or {CallScripter Text Plugin}Test Campaign.
Note that as this has no inherent data source attached to, data must be passed by the popping method directly. Additionally, no data is returned to the pop initiator at record completion.
